How files and links reach buyers safely

Files stay in private storage and buyers reach them through their order page, which checks their access on every download.

What the buyer does

  1. After paying, or after claiming a free product, they land on their private order page.
  2. They press Download, or Open link for a link.
  3. They also get an email with an Open my order button.

You don't need to send anything. They don't need an account.

How they come back later

  • Same browser: their access is remembered for 30 days.
  • The emailed link: it works for 7 days.
  • After that: at dockstall.com/orders, they enter the email they bought with and press Email me a link. That link covers all their orders with that email and works for one hour.
  • With an account: they can create one, and orders under their verified email are added to it.

If a link expires, they just request a new one. Their purchase doesn't expire with it. Send them to find your purchase.

How files are protected

  • Files sit in private storage with no public address.
  • Each download checks that this person has access, that their access is still active, and that the file belongs to what they bought.
  • Without access, an order page or a file address just shows "not found".
  • Each purchase is limited to 60 downloads per hour.

How links are protected

Your address stays hidden until purchase. Buyers go through a private redirect, which also checks their access.

What this can't do

  • Downloaded files can be shared. There's no watermark or copy protection.
  • Links can be passed on. A buyer can forward the page a link opens. We say so on your product page.
  • Order emails can be forwarded. Anyone with an unexpired emailed link can open that order, so buyers should keep it to themselves.

When access ends

A full refund ends access, and so does a lost dispute. A partial refund keeps it, and so does an open dispute.

Hiding, archiving or moving a product to draft doesn't end it. Buyers can keep reaching what they bought for as long as we can reasonably provide it.

What you can see

In Orders, open an order. Delivery lists the latest 20 downloads and link opens, with dates. It's a useful record, but it doesn't guarantee a result in a dispute.

You can't resend the email or change a buyer's address from there. See a buyer needs their link again.
