Add a cover, gallery and description

Add them

1. Go to Products and open your product.
2. Open Basics.
3. Change any of the fields below.

• Title, up to 120 characters.
• Tagline, up to 160 characters: one line under the title.
• Cover image: drop an image or click.
• Description, up to 20,000 characters.
• What's included, one thing per line. Buyers see it as a list above the description.
• Works with, what they need for it to work, one per line.
• Gallery, up to 8 images and videos. Up to 5 can be videos, in MP4 or WebM, 200 MB each.

Each change saves by itself, and you'll see Saved at the top. A live product has no separate publish step for these, so what you save is what buyers get.

Images

• Up to 8 MB each.
• PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF or AVIF. We check the file itself, not just its name.
• The product page shows images in a 4:3 frame and crops them to fill it, so keep the important part near the middle.
• The cover comes first, followed by the gallery as small thumbnails to click through.
• Hover over a gallery image and press the X to remove it. To change the order, remove images and add them again in the order you want.

Without a cover, the page shows a simple pattern in your store's colour.

Your cover and tagline also appear on Stripe's payment page, so buyers see them as they pay.

Description

You can format it with **bold**, *italic*, ## headings, - lists and [links](https://example.com).

Say plainly what's included, the format, and any limits. It's the first thing to check when a buyer says a product wasn't what they expected, and our rules ask you to describe products honestly. See lower your risk of disputes.

Text past the 20,000 character limit is cut off when saved, so keep your own copy of anything very long.

What isn't possible

Videos are served as you upload them, so export them at 1080p in H.264. A video of 30 seconds or less plays by itself, silent and on a loop. A longer one starts when clicked, with sound. The cover is always an image. You can also link to a video from your description, or sell a video as a file to download.

Common problems

• "Images can be up to 8 MB." Make it smaller and try again.
• "Use a PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF or AVIF image." The file isn't one of these, even if its name says it is. Export it again in one of these formats.
