Deliver files and a link together
Choose Both under What buyers get, then upload at least one file and add the link. Buyers get both on their order page.
Set it up
- Open your product in Products, or create one with New product.
- Under What buyers get, choose Both.
- Paste the address into Access link. It must start with
https://. - Add a Button label if you want one.
- Upload your files on Drop files here or click to browse.
- Press Publish.
You can't publish until there's at least one ready file and a link. The Before you publish card shows both.
What buyers see
The order page shows the link first, with an Open link button, then your files with Download buttons. Your product page also tells visitors that the product includes an external link, and that links can't be revoked or protected the way files are.
How updates work
The two parts behave differently.
- Files have versions. A released version is locked. To change a file, release a new version, and you can email buyers when you do.
- The link has no versions. Whatever address is in Access link is the one every past and new buyer gets on their next click.
With options
Each option can have its own files, but there's only one link per product. Everyone who buys any option gets the same link.
Changing your mind on a live product
What buyers get can be changed at any time. Check these before you switch:
- From Both to Files. New buyers only get files. Past buyers keep the link they bought. If it's wrong or has leaked, use Remove the link for everyone, under What buyers get.
- From Both to A link. Files already released stay on buyers' order pages, and new buyers get them as well. They also disappear from this section of your page, so you can no longer manage them there. If you need files gone, withdraw the version first.
- From Files to Both. Everyone who bought the product, past buyers included, gets the link on their order page as soon as you add it.
Tell your buyers about any change that matters to them. Their email addresses are in Orders.
