Add a product with files

Add it

1. Go to Products and press New product.
2. Fill in Product name.
3. Under What do buyers get?, choose Files.
4. Under Price, choose Paid and enter an Amount, or choose Free.
5. Press Create product. It starts as a draft, and nobody can see it yet.
6. Open What buyers get and drop your files on Drop files here or click to browse.
7. Wait until each file says Ready.
8. Add a cover and description under Basics if you like. They aren't required, but buyers will look for them. See cover, gallery and description.
9. Press Publish.

The Before you publish card shows what's still missing. Your title, description, files and delivery choice save by themselves as you go.

What happens next

Publish releases your files as version 1.0, puts the product on your store and takes you back to Products, with a link to see it live. Buyers can now open its page at /p/ followed by its Page link.

After a purchase, the buyer lands on a private order page with a Download button and gets an email with a link back to it. You don't need to send anything. See how files and links reach buyers.

Who pays what

A buyer pays on Stripe's page, into your own Stripe account. Your costs on each sale are Stripe's processing fee and Dockstall's fee: 5% on Free, 1% on Pro. See what you pay per sale.

Common problems

• Publish is greyed out. Check the Before you publish card. Hover over the button to see the first thing missing.
• "Upload at least one file." Your files may still be in review. See my upload failed or my file is in review.
• The page says "This seller isn't taking payments yet." Your product is live, but Stripe isn't ready, so paid options can't be bought. See connect your Stripe account.
• I can't find it on my store. Your store itself has to be online too. See edit your store and publish changes.
• I wanted to sell more than one version of it, like Personal and Team. See options.
