Test your store before you share it

There is no test mode for sellers on Dockstall. Every order you place is a real order, so read the last section before you start.

Check how it looks

1. In the editor, switch between Mobile and Desktop to see both layouts.
2. Click Preview at the top to open your draft in its own tab. Only you can see it. On a phone, use Preview at the bottom of the editor instead.
3. After you publish, open View live on Your page and click through it as a visitor.

Test a free checkout

This works without Stripe.

1. Publish your store with a free product on it, or use one you already have.
2. On your store, click Get it free and type an email you can check.
3. You should land on the order page. Try Download or Open link.
4. Check that email's inbox for the private link to the order.
5. Open dockstall.com/orders in a private window and use Find a purchase to see how a buyer gets back in.

Claiming again with the same email doesn't open the order. We email its link to that address instead.

Test a paid product without paying

Once Stripe is on, you can run a paid product through checkout at no cost.

1. In Coupons, create a code with 100% off for that product.
2. Open the product, click to buy, then Have a discount code? and type the code.
3. The total on that page still shows the full price. That's normal: the code is applied when you continue.
4. A 100% off order skips Stripe, so you land on the order page with nothing charged.
5. Pause the code when you're done. Coupons can't be deleted.

Test a real payment

The only way to see Stripe's page is a real payment. The lowest price is €1.

The payment happens on your Stripe account and you can refund it from the order in Dockstall. Our fee on the refunded amount comes back if you refund within 30 days. Whether Stripe returns its own fee is up to Stripe, so you may bear that cost. A full refund also ends access to the product.

What a test order leaves behind

Test orders can't be erased, so keep these in mind:

• The product can't be deleted any more, only archived. Using a small separate product for tests helps here.
• You can no longer close your account yourself in Settings. After the first order, free ones included, closing goes through privacy@dockstall.com.
• The order shows in Orders and Analytics.
• If you limit copies, it uses one, and a refund doesn't give it back.
