Help center / Stripe and getting paid
What you pay per sale, with examples
Dockstall takes 5% per sale on Free or 1% on Pro. Stripe charges its own processing fee on your account, on top, so your real number is in your Stripe dashboard.
The two fees
Dockstall's fee is 5% of each sale on Free. On Pro it's 1%, and Pro costs €9 a month. Stripe collects it automatically as part of each payment, so you never pay it separately.
Stripe's fee is charged by Stripe on your own account. We don't set it and never mark it up. It depends on the card and the method your buyer uses. Dockstall's pages give 1.5% + €0.25 for standard EEA cards as an example. Other cards and methods can cost more.
Examples
These use that example Stripe rate. They are illustrations, not a quote from Stripe.
€20 sale on Free
- Dockstall: €1.00
- Stripe, in this example: €0.55
- What's left: €18.45
€20 sale on Pro
- Dockstall: €0.20
- Stripe, in this example: €0.55
- What's left: €19.25, and you also pay €9 a month for Pro

- Stripe, in this example: €1.75
- What's left: €93.25
€100 sale on Pro
- Dockstall: €1.00

- What's left: €97.25, and you also pay €9 a month for Pro
On our fees alone, Pro costs less once you sell more than €225 a month.
How the fee is worked out
- It's calculated on what the buyer paid, after any discount, and rounded to the nearest cent.
- The rate is locked when the buyer starts checkout. A later plan change doesn't alter it.
- It applies to payment links too.
- Free products, and orders made free by a coupon, have no fee. They don't go through Stripe.
Where to see it
- Dockstall's fee: on each order, as Dockstall fee, in Orders.
- Stripe's fee: in your Stripe dashboard. We don't show it per order, since Stripe takes it there.
Your own taxes are your responsibility and aren't included above.
