Help center / Stripe and getting paid

Connect your Stripe account

Go to Payouts, pick your country, click Connect with Stripe and finish Stripe's form in the new tab. Stripe then decides whether to turn payments on.

Connect

  1. In your dashboard, open Payouts. It shows a Set up badge until payments are on.
  2. Choose your Country of your business. Check it carefully: it is set once, and Dockstall has no way to change it afterwards.
  3. Click Connect with Stripe. Stripe opens in a new tab.
  4. Fill in Stripe's form. Your website and a description of what you sell are already filled in. You can change them there.
  5. Come back to Payouts. The page updates by itself.

You can also do this in the Get paid step when you first set up your store.

What happens next

This all takes place on Stripe, not on Dockstall. Stripe checks your identity and bank details and makes the decision. The form usually takes about five minutes. Approval can take longer, and we can't speed it up or approve you ourselves.

When Stripe says yes, Payouts shows You're ready to sell with Taking payments, and we email you "Payments are on for your store".

Until then:

  • You can edit and publish your store
  • Free products work
  • Paid products can't be bought. Buyers see "This seller isn't taking payments yet. Check back soon."

Who pays

Connecting costs nothing on Dockstall. Once you sell, Stripe charges its own fee on your account and we take our fee per sale. See what you pay per sale.

Common questions

Can I use the Stripe account I already have? Dockstall starts a new Stripe account for your store. There is no field for entering an existing one. If Stripe's form offers you a way to reuse your details, that part is Stripe's.

Which countries work? The 27 EU countries and Switzerland. See countries where you can sell.

Stripe is asking for something else. See Stripe won't connect or is asking for more.

I picked the wrong country or details. See I connected the wrong Stripe account.
