Help center / Stripe and getting paid
What happens if you disconnect Stripe
Paid checkout stops on your store and payment links. Your money stays in your Stripe account, past buyers keep access, and getting reconnected means writing to us.
Before you disconnect, write to us if you're trying to fix something. It may not be easy to undo. See I connected the wrong Stripe account.
Dockstall has no disconnect button. A disconnection happens on Stripe's side, in your Stripe account.
What stops
- Buyers can't pay for your products. They see "This seller isn't taking payments yet. Check back soon."
- Your payment links stop taking payments.
What keeps working
- Your store stays online, unless you unpublish it
- Free products can still be claimed
- Past buyers keep their order pages and downloads
- Your Stripe account stays yours, and so does the money in it, subject to Stripe's own rules
Refunds and disputes after disconnecting
These still come to you, since you're still the seller on those orders. Handle them in your own Stripe dashboard. The Refund button in Dockstall needs access to your Stripe account, so it may stop working. Order statuses here may also stop updating.
That matters for our fee too. We can only promise the 30-day return of our fee when you refund with the button in Dockstall. See what happens to fees and access after a refund.
What Payouts shows
The Payouts page may not make the disconnection clear, and can look as if Stripe is still checking your details. If that happens after you disconnected, you aren't waiting for Stripe.
Reconnecting
There's no self-serve way to reconnect. Open Help center from your account menu and click Write to us, with your store address. We can't promise a timing or an outcome.
Your Pro plan
Your Pro subscription is separate from your store's Stripe account. Disconnecting doesn't cancel it. To stop it, see move back to Free.
