Help center / Stripe and getting paid

Why your money goes to your own Stripe account

Buyers pay you directly through a Stripe account in your name, so Dockstall never holds your sales. Stripe does, under its own rules, until it pays them out to your bank.

How the money moves

  1. A buyer pays on Stripe's page.
  2. The payment lands in your own Stripe account, not in a Dockstall balance.
  3. Our fee is collected automatically by Stripe as part of that payment.
  4. Stripe pays the rest out to your bank, on its schedule.

There is no Dockstall balance and no withdrawal button here. We are not an escrow service.

What this gives you

  • You see the real numbers. Open your account with Open Stripe dashboard on Payouts.
  • Your ID, bank details and your buyers' cards go to Stripe and never through us.
  • If you leave Dockstall, the Stripe account stays yours.

What it also means

This setup puts more in your hands, and it's fair to say so:

  • You are the seller. Your name is on the sale. Refunds, disputes, your buyers and your own taxes are yours.
  • Stripe's decisions are Stripe's. Stripe verifies your account, sets when you're paid, and can hold funds. Having your own account doesn't remove that risk. We can't overrule it. See can my money be held?
  • Refunds and disputes come out of your Stripe balance. See refund an order and disputes.
  • Our rules still apply. If a store breaks our terms, those terms allow us to restrict payouts through Stripe or suspend the account. See why a store gets reviewed or suspended.

Who pays what

Stripe charges its processing fee on your account, and we never mark it up. We take 5% per sale on Free or 1% on Pro. See what you pay per sale.
