Help center / Stripe and getting paid
Payment methods your buyers can use
Stripe decides which methods appear on its payment page, based on your Stripe settings and on each buyer. Manage them in your Stripe dashboard, because Dockstall has no list of its own.
Where to check
- In Dockstall, open Payouts and click Open Stripe dashboard.
- In Stripe, open your payment method settings.
- Turn on or off the methods you want, if Stripe offers them to you.
To see what a buyer would see, follow test your store.
Why we can't give you a list
Buyers pay on Stripe's own page, and Dockstall doesn't choose the methods. So we can't promise that any given method, like a specific wallet, will appear.
Stripe explains in its guide to dynamic payment methods that:
- Only methods enabled in your account's settings can be shown
- What's shown also depends on the buyer's country, the currency and the amount
- Some methods aren't available in every country
- Stripe decides how to display them for each checkout
All Dockstall prices are in euro, so methods that don't support euro won't apply. See prices are in euro.
Methods that take longer
Some methods don't confirm right away. The buyer sees Confirming your payment… and also gets an email once it's confirmed. Their purchase is delivered after the confirmation, not before.
Who pays
Stripe's fee depends on the method, and it's charged on your Stripe account. Check Stripe for the cost before you turn one on. Our fee doesn't change with the method: 5% on Free, 1% on Pro.
Stripe also explains that refunds work differently by method. For example, if your balance is too low, a card refund can wait, but a refund on another method can fail. Disputes on some methods follow their own rules too.
What we can't do
We can't switch on a method for you, or get one approved for your account. Those are between you and Stripe.
