Leaving Dockstall: what happens to your store and buyers
Your Stripe account and your own domain stay yours, your Dockstall links stop working, and buyers keep access for as long as we can reasonably provide it.
Before you go
- Export your data. It includes your orders and buyer emails. It doesn't include your files, so keep your own copies.
- Make any refunds you've agreed to, from the order page in Dockstall. Within 30 days of the purchase, Dockstall's fee on the refunded amount comes back to you. See fees and access after a refund.
- Tell your buyers, so they can download what they bought.
- If you're on Pro, move to Free.
- Close your account.
Just want a break? You can take your store offline and keep everything.
What stays yours
- Your Stripe account. Payments, balance and payouts stay there, and Stripe keeps paying out on its own terms. Closing Dockstall doesn't close it.
- Your domain. You own it, at the place you bought it. Point its DNS somewhere new when you're ready. After Pro ends, it keeps working on your store for 14 days and then disconnects.
- Your content. You keep all rights to what you made.
What stops working
Your store, product pages and payment links go offline when your account closes. We don't redirect old links to a new home, so update links you've shared in posts, videos and profiles.
What happens to your buyers
The Terms say buyers keep access to what they bought for as long as we can reasonably provide it. We can't promise that's forever, which is why it's worth telling them.
Your buyers won't move anywhere automatically. Buyer emails in your export are for delivering, supporting and accounting for those sales. You can't add them to a marketing list without their consent.
After you've left
Refunds and disputes on past sales can still come up. Those happen in your Stripe dashboard, and any cost falls on your Stripe account. We can't confirm whether Dockstall's fee comes back on a refund made directly in Stripe.
We keep order records, fees and invoices for 10 years, for accounting and tax. Other account data is deleted within 90 days.
