The languages your store speaks

A new store starts in the language you were reading when you made it, and you can change it in the editor. Dockstall's own words follow it, while the text you wrote stays exactly as you wrote it.

Set your store's language

  1. Open Your page, then Edit page, then Language.
  2. Choose from Store language: English, Italiano, Español, Deutsch or Français.
  3. Click Publish changes.

A new store starts in the language you were reading Dockstall in when you created it. Onboarding doesn't ask, so check this setting if your buyers speak something else.

What changes

  • Buttons and labels on your store
  • The checkout and Stripe's payment page
  • The two fixed questions on your store
  • Receipts and other emails to your buyers
  • The words we suggested when you set up, if you kept them as they were, like a suggested headline or the tags from our list

What doesn't change

Your own words. We don't translate your titles, descriptions, questions or anything else you wrote. There is one version of each, so if your buyers speak several languages, you could write in the one most of them read, or write short descriptions in two languages.

Your own language

The dashboard is in English, Italian, Spanish, German and French. Choose yours with the globe, or with Language in your account menu. Dockstall remembers the choice on your account, so it follows you to your other devices.

The emails we send you, like sale notifications and Stripe updates, use the language of your account. The help center is available in the same five languages. Your store's language is a separate setting, so you can read the dashboard in one language and sell in another.

What visitors can do

Visitors can choose another language from the menu at the top of your store. The same five are offered. The checkout and Stripe's page follow their choice.

You can share a link in a set language by adding ?lang= and a code to the address: en, it, es, de or fr. For example, yourname.dockstall.com/?lang=it.

After the purchase

  • A buyer's order page uses your store's language.
  • The page at dockstall.com/orders, where buyers find a past purchase, follows the language the buyer chose with the globe, or the language of their browser if they haven't chosen.

Legal pages

Dockstall's legal pages are available in all five languages. The Spanish, German and French versions are courtesy translations: if they differ from the Italian text, the Italian text prevails.
