How your store appears on Google and in link previews
Set your store's title and description under Name & search in your page's Settings, and we use your avatar or a product cover as the picture.
Set your title and description
- Open Your page, then Settings.
- Under Name & search, fill in SEO title (up to 70 characters) and SEO description (up to 200).
- Click Save.
These apply without Publish changes. Visitors and search engines can get the new version after about a minute.
What shows if you leave them empty
- Title: your display name and what you make, both from Settings.
- Description: the Bio in Settings. If that's empty too, a short line like "Digital products by" and your name.
The bio from setup was written for you from your tags, so have a look at what it says.
The picture in link previews
We use your avatar. If you have none, we use the cover of your first product with one. You can't set a separate preview picture.
Product pages
Each product has its own preview:
- Title: the product's title and your name
- Description: its tagline, or the start of its description if there's no tagline
- Picture: its cover
So a cover and a tagline do a lot for a product you share. See add a cover, gallery and description.
Page name
Page name is your store's name inside the dashboard and on the leaderboard. It isn't the title Google shows.
Getting found on Google
Your store has a sitemap listing your store and your published products, at /sitemap.xml on your store address. Search engines are allowed to read your store.
Google alone decides whether and when to list you, and how your result looks. It can show different words from the ones you wrote. We can't promise a ranking or a date.
If you connect your own domain, your store tells search engines that's its main address.
Common problems
- A preview shows the old title or picture. Apps often keep their own copy of a preview for a while. We can't refresh their copy for you.
- My store isn't on Google. New stores take time, and a store that's offline can't be listed. Check it's published.
- A product doesn't appear. Only published products that are on your store are listed.
