Connect your own domain
On Pro, add your domain in Domains, create the DNS record we show you at your domain provider, and wait for the check to pass.
Who pays
Custom domains are part of Pro, which costs €9 a month and is billed through Stripe. You also pay your domain provider for the domain itself. It stays yours, registered with them. See upgrade to Pro.
Connect it
- Open Domains in your dashboard.
- Type your domain in Domain, like
yourname.comorshop.yourname.com, and click Add. - Sign in at your domain provider and open its DNS settings.
- Create the
CNAMErecord the page shows. Its target isstores.dockstall.com. Its name is@foryourname.com, orshopforshop.yourname.com. - If the page also shows a
TXTrecord, create that as well. - Back on Domains, click Check now. We also check by ourselves every 5 minutes.
When it works, the domain's status changes to active. We don't send an email when it's done, so check back here.
HTTPS is set up for you once your DNS points to us. It usually takes minutes, sometimes up to an hour.
Using yourname.com
A root domain needs a provider that allows a CNAME on @. Some call it ALIAS or ANAME, and Cloudflare does it for you.
If yours doesn't, connect www.yourname.com instead, and redirect yourname.com to it from your provider.
Good to know
- Only the address you connect is served.
yourname.comdoesn't coverwww.yourname.com, so redirect the other one from your provider. - One domain per store. To switch, click Remove, then add the new one.
- Your free address keeps working at
yourname.dockstall.com. - Checkout stays on dockstall.com, even when buyers come from your domain.
- If you see Activation pending on our side, you can still add your domain. It activates by itself once our setup is finished.
If you leave Pro
We warn you by email, your domain keeps working for 14 days after your Pro period ends, and then it's disconnected. Your store stays live on its dockstall.com address. See move back to Free.
