Drafts, undo and going back to an earlier version
Undo fixes your last steps, drafts let you try a new design away from your live store, and Published versions lets you go back to something you published before.
Undo your last change
Use the undo and redo arrows at the top of the editor. Outside a text field, Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Shift+Z work too.
Undo only remembers the current session. It starts empty again when you reload the page or open another draft.
Go back to your live store
Discard changes drops everything you changed in this draft since your last publish. This can't be undone. See edit and publish.
Go back to something you published
- In the editor, click the draft's name at the top.
- Open Published versions. The last 20 are listed by date, and live marks the current one.
- Click Restore next to the one you want.
What happens next depends on your room for drafts:
- If you have room, it opens as a new draft.
- If you're at your limit, we ask to replace the open draft, and what's in it goes away. On Free you have one draft, so this is the case you'll see.
Your live store doesn't change until you click Publish changes.
Keep more than one draft
Free has 1 draft. Pro has 10. Each is a whole store design, which makes it handy for a sale or a redesign.
- Click the draft's name at the top.
- Under New draft, type a name, then choose Copy this draft or Copy your live store.
- Click Create and open.
In the same panel you can Rename, Open or Delete. The draft you have open can't be deleted, so open another first. A deleted draft is gone for good. Publish changes always publishes the open draft.
What a draft doesn't include
These aren't part of a draft or a published version, so restoring won't bring them back:
- Your avatar
- Which products are on your store, and their order
- Your products themselves
- Your display name and search details
If you restored by mistake
Your live store is safe until you publish. If you published the wrong one, restore the right one from Published versions and publish again.
