Check whether a link has been paid
Look in Payment links for the paid count, or search your client's email in Orders. The money itself is in your Stripe dashboard.
Check it
- Go to Payment links. Each link shows paid followed by a count, like "paid 1×".
- For the details, go to Orders and search for your client's email. Orders from these links have a payment link label.
- Open the order to see the amount charged, Dockstall's fee and whether anything has been refunded.
You also get a sale email at your sign-in address whenever a link is paid.
What the labels mean
- active: it can be paid. A reusable link stays this way after payments.
- completed: a one-time link that's been paid.
- expired: past its Expires on date.
- disabled: you turned it off.
Where the money is
Dockstall records that the payment happened. The money itself is on Stripe, in your own Stripe account, and that's where you bear Stripe's processing fee and Dockstall's fee: 5% on Free, 1% on Pro. To see the actual balance and your payouts, open your Stripe dashboard. Stripe decides when it reaches your bank, so completed doesn't mean it's arrived. See when you get paid.
Common problems
- My client says they paid, but it still says paid 0×. A payment only counts once Stripe confirms it, and some payment methods take longer. Ask them for their receipt email and check your Stripe dashboard. If Stripe shows a completed payment and Dockstall doesn't after a while, contact us with the link's title and the Stripe payment details.
- Someone told me the link is busy. They've seen the message that someone is completing the payment. A one-time link allows one open checkout at a time, and it clears by itself if that checkout isn't finished, in about 30 minutes.
- I refunded it, but it still says paid 1×. The count doesn't go down, and a paid one-time link doesn't reopen. Check the order in Orders for the refund. If your client needs to pay again, create a new link.
- It says paid 2× on a link I gave one person. If it's a reusable link, they paid twice. You can refund one. One-time links handle this differently. See a one-time link was paid twice.
- I can't find the link. The list shows your latest 200 links.
- Which client paid on my reusable link? The link doesn't say. Look in Orders, where each payment shows the email it was paid with.
