How do invoice requests work?
Turn them on in Invoices and buyers can leave their details before paying. You issue the invoice with your own software; Dockstall doesn't issue it.
Dockstall doesn't issue invoices. It collects the details you need and keeps track of what's left to do.
Turn them on
- Open Invoices.
- Turn on Accept invoice requests.
Turn this on only if you can issue invoices. While it's off, your checkout stays as it is.
What buyers see
Before paying, buyers see Need an invoice? They choose individual or business, then fill in only what applies: name or company, address, tax code or VAT number and, for Italian businesses, an SDI code or PEC. We check that these look right, not that they exist.
What you do
- You get the usual sale email, with a note that they asked for an invoice.
- Open Invoices and pick the request. Press any line to copy it, or copy everything at once.
- Issue the invoice with your own software.
- Press Mark as issued, with the invoice number if you like. The next request opens.
If you marked one by mistake, open Issued and move it back.
If you refund the order
The request shows that the order was refunded. You may need a credit note: ask your accountant.
Do I have to issue one?
That depends on your country, your tax position and what you sell. We can't advise you on tax, so ask your accountant.
