A buyer used the wrong email
You can't change the email on an order. The buyer can keep using the same browser, or you can give them a copy at the right address with a coupon, or refund so they can buy again.
Neither you nor the buyer can change the email on an order from the dashboard. Delivery uses the address typed on Dockstall's checkout page, even if a different one is entered later on Stripe's page. Here are the closest options, simplest first.
1. The same browser
If the buyer is on the browser they bought from, the purchase is still there for 30 days. Ask them to open dockstall.com/orders and download from My purchases. This costs nothing.
2. A copy at the right address
This happens in Dockstall, and the first sale stays as it is.
- Open Coupons and press New coupon.
- Set the discount to 100 Percent, and Max redemptions to 1.
- Under Applies to, tick the product. Press Create coupon.
- Send the code to the buyer. They check out with the correct email and enter it under Have a discount code?.
The new order is free and skips Stripe, so there is no fee on it. The old order keeps its access too.
3. Refund, then buy again
- Open the order under Orders and refund it in full.
- The buyer buys again with the correct email.
The refund runs through Stripe. The money goes back to the buyer. Dockstall's fee on it comes back to you if you refund within 30 days of the purchase. Whether Stripe returns its own processing fee is up to Stripe, so check your Stripe dashboard. Any cost that remains is yours. A full refund ends access on the old order.
For a free product
The buyer can simply get it again with the correct email.
If the address belongs to someone else
The delivery email went to that address, and its link opens the order. We can't recall an email. A full refund ends access to the files and to the link on that order. A sold link's destination can't be protected once someone has seen it.
Which option to use is your decision. See refund an order for the steps.
